For “Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? Rom 10:13-15 God has called us to an extraordinary ministry in turbulent times. The Lighthouse project requires men and women of faith with the courage to make a difference in their communities. America is quickly becoming one of the largest unchurched and pagan groups in the world. Most people think they know what following Jesus means and what Christianity teaches. They think they know his message, what Jesus means by salvation, repentance, and transformation. Like an infectious disease, they have been inoculated against any true understanding of the Gospel. Disillusionment with the established church has taken the place of active belief. We believe God is calling men and women from all over New England and the Untied States to change this trend. We need to live our lives in such a way that when people see us, see the joy and peace we have, the desire and willingness to change our communities for the better, when they see what Jesus has done in our lives, they will want to know Him too. The Lesser Franciscans, in cooperation with the Anglican Mission in America, have answered this call. Will you also join us? We need people who are willing to be leaders, who will step out in faith, and work to follow Jesus’ command to care for the least and the lost. We need men and women who will introduce the Jesus who heals to those who are wounded, who will share the Jesus who forgives with a broken world, and who will share the message of the Gospel through their lives. Are you one of them? If you are interested in learning more about this project, please register for a seminar being held at All Saints Anglican Church in Attleboro MA on Saturday, September 8th. Our guest speaker is Bishop Thad Barnum of the Anglican Mission in America. It will be a time of prayer, teaching, discernment and fellowship. You can register here or email lighthouse@lesserfranciscans.org for information. We look forward to seeing you there. Desire God has placed a desire for himself in the soul of every person. As members of a lighthouse ministry, we strive to show people through our lives and our actions that Jesus loves them and desires a relationship with them. Transformation St. Patrick entered communities and formed Christian enclaves that through their lives, worship, and service made the lives of people who lived their better. By giving the funds raised through tithing to starting community transformation projects, members of the lighthouse work together to improve peoples lives, meeting the deepest needs. Belonging As friendships build through transforming lives, lighthouse members will invite people to a monthly fellowship meeting that includes a potluck dinner, singing, praying, and bible study. Believing As people see that the gospel message is alive and real through the ministry of the lighthouse, they will want the joy and peace they see in us for themselves. They will also come to believe the saving power and grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The lighthouse will grow, and others will begin to live their lives in such a way, that good men and women, seeing them will wish it were true. |
